REDEMPTION OF PURPOSEFUL AND UNINTENTIONAL SIN
According to Tradition:
The Torah prescribes remedies for redemption from Sin, both Purposeful and Inadvertent. We find in the scriptures of the Book of Vayikra/Leviticus four distinct divisions of remedy of redemption:
Redemption of Purposeful Sin; Temple Priests:
“if the anointed priest shall sin so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto Hashem for a sin-offering. And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tent of meeting before Hashem; and he shall lay his hand upon the head of the bullock, and kill the bullock before Hashem. And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting. And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before Hashem, in front of the veil of the sanctuary. And the priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Hashem, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the remaining blood of the bullock shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.”= {Book of Vayirka/Leviticus 4:3-7}
“8 And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he shall take off from it; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, 9 and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the lobe above the liver, which he shall take away by kidneys, 10 as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make them smoke upon the altar of burnt-offering. 11 But the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards, and its dung, 12 even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.” – {Book of Vayikra/Leviticus}
Redemption of Purposeful Sin; The Rulers (Kings, their courts and advisors) of The Israelites:
“ When a ruler sinneth, and doeth through error any one of all the things which Hashem his G-d hath commanded not to be done, and is guilty: if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, be known to him, he shall bring for his offering a goat, a male without blemish. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt-offering before Hashem; it is a sin-offering. And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and the remaining blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering. And all the fat thereof shall he make smoke upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin, and he shall be forgiven.” – {Book of Vayikra/Leviticus 4:22-26}
Redemption of Purposeful Sin; the Israelite Faithful:
“And if the whole congregation of Israel shall err, the thing being hid from the eyes of the assembly, and do any of the things which Hashem hath commanded not to be done, and are guilty: when the sin wherein they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bullock for a sin-offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting. And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before Hashem; and the bullock shall be killed before Hashem. And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting.
And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Hashem, in front of the veil. And he shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before Hashem, that is in the tent of meeting, and all the remaining blood shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting. And all the fat thereof shall he take off from it, and make it smoke upon the altar. Thus shall he do with the bullock; as he did with the bullock of the sin-offering, so shall he do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven. And he shall carry forth the bullock without the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bullock; it is the sin-offering for the assembly.” – {Book of Vayikra/Leviticus 4:13-21}
Redemption of Purposeful Sin; the People of the Land:
“And if any one of the common people sin through error, in doing any of the things which Hashem hath commanded not to be done, and be guilty: if his sin, which he hath sinned, be known to him, then he shall bring for his offering a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and kill the sin-offering in the place of burnt-offering. And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and all the remaining blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar. And all the fat thereof shall he take away, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make it smoke upon the altar for a sweet savor unto ElohimHashem; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.”
“And if he bring a lamb as his offering for a sin-offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and kill it for a sin-offering in the place where they kill the burnt-offering. And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and all the remaining blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar. And all the fat thereof shall he take away, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make them smoke on the altar, upon the offerings of HaShem made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned, and he shall be forgiven.” – {Book of Vayikra/Leviticus 4:27-35}
Elohim Mishpat (the G-d of Justice) makes His will known clear and distinctly. Those who seek not redemption and forgiveness in the cases of Purposeful or Intentional Sin are condemned, the sentence, “death”; cut off from His Grace and Mercy and shunned by His people. “But the soul that doeth aught with a high hand, whether he be home-born or a stranger, the same blasphemeth HaShem; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.” – {Book of Bamidbar/Numbers 15:30}
We even find within the Torah clear examples of that which Elohim Bashamayim (G-d in Heaven} declares detestable; “Because he hath despised the word of HaShem, and hath broken His commandment; that soul shall utterly be cut off, his iniquity shall be upon him.” – {Book of Bamidbar/Numbers 15:31}
Redemption of Inadvertent Sin:
Through Ha’ Moshiach Yehoshua (The Anointed One, Joshua) our redemption is bonded in His Resurrection. Our transgressions, both Purposeful and Unintentional may be forgiven through our admission of sin before our Lord and Redeemer with sincere intent to clearly not repeat the same transgression and in a humble act of penance in His service; We are offered insight of the detestable before Hashem through the declarations of Yehoshua; “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,” – {Book of Ivrim/Hebrews 10:26}
Redemption from Sin for Us All:
For all those who teach in the name of Yehoshua that “The Fear G-d” is first and foremost in worship, I say sadly, you are misguided. Hell, Fire and Brimstone must not be our motivation to honor and glorify Hashem and Ben Elohim (G-d and the Son of G-d). Our praise, worship and adherence to the Word of Elohim must always come from a place of light, beauty, love and gratitude in His Resurrection for only through the great love of Elohim HaAv (G-d the Father) who accepted the gift of sacrifice of Ben Elohim, Y’shua Ha’ Mashiach (the Son of G-d, Jesus our Messiah) that we may inherit His Kingdom, hold eternal life and forgiveness of sin. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – {Book of Yochanan/John 3:16} “ As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – {Book of Romi'im/Romans 8:36-39}
In conclusion, let us go forth in His continence of light and love to be a reflection of the same before all mankind always. In gratitude, we further His Will selflessly and in loving labor lift our neighbor and loved ones before His glory! Halleluiah!
Go in peace and know you are loved,
Pastor Mark
